Sand dollar
Curious, what is that?
Flat, white with pretty petals on its back.
Once a colourful, hairy sea urchin burrowing just beneath the surface.
Now washed up on the beach, bleached by the sun and the heat.
A delicate skeleton is all that remains.
A sand dollar to be treasured and admired, again and again,
