Breakwater Marina sunrise - Saturday 25 March

Townsville is now on cyclone watch as a tropical low off the north Queensland Coast slowly moves towards the coastline.

Breakwater Marina - the calm before the storm!

There's a shopping frenzy all over town as residents stock up on the essentials water, batteries, tin food, toilet paper etc. The shelves have been stripped bare!

It's a beautiful day, vibrant blue, sunny skies and light winds. It's hard to imagine 600kms offshore a monster is brewing in the Coral Sea.

We haven't experienced a cyclone like this! We are anxious and excited about this new experience we will most likely encounter within the next 24-48 hours.

It's time to prepare the boat! The marina has become a hive of activity as everyone is doing the same, checking ropes and tying down sails in the hope that our boats will survive cyclone Debbie. Now we wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
